Your holidaysin La Grave

A legendary place that has made many a mountaineer dream and sweat, La Grave is a mecca for sports enthusiasts who love unspoilt nature. There are no luxury hotels here, just comfortable accommodation. No huge holiday centres, just family-run accommodation and a few gîtes. No shopping arcade, just traditional small shops. In short, La Grave is for those who love the high mountains in their untamed glory.

Why book accommodation in La Grave?

La Grave is one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France" largely due to its breathtaking view of the imposing summit of La Meije, which dominates the narrow streets and traditional Alpine buildings. Your holiday will therefore begin facing the majestic Écrins massif

What also makes this area special is its unique skiing areas:

- The first is a ski area with no lifts, so there's no on-piste skiing. There is only one way up to the summit and that's on the legendary Meije glacier cable car. Once you reach 3,200 m, you'll find two groomed pistes on the glacier, and that's all! It's up to you to find your own way down. Obviously, this is for experienced skiers only.

- The second is a village resort called Le Chazelet, which is perfect for a family holiday, thanks to its sunny slopes, where you can learn to enjoy skiing at your own pace.  The added bonus is the  breathtaking view of La Meije.

In summer, La Grave is a mecca for mountaineers, coveted for its many routes, including the most famous of them all, namely the ascent of La Meije at 3,982 m. People also come here for the via ferrata (at Les Fréaux), climbing, hiking in the Écrins National Park and mountain biking, from the Col du Lautaret to the Emparis plateau, in addition to the freeride area of La Meije.

Choose your accommodation and come and immerse yourself in the captivating landscape of the high mountains!
